In early 2023, we received an inquiry from the United Arab Emirates. The customer was a third-party petroleum testing laboratory with 20 years of history, providing fuel and lubricant quality analysis services to multiple local oil companies.
Attached to the email was a five-page technical questionnaire — not asking about prices, but detailing our automatic closed cup flash point tester, kinematic viscosity tester, distillation tester, and other instruments. The questions covered repeatability, reproducibility, temperature control accuracy, and compliance with ASTM standards.
"We have used European and American equipment before, and also tried other Chinese brands. However, the data stability and operational convenience were not ideal. We hope you can provide sample units for testing," the customer wrote.
To be honest, being compared head‑to‑head with leading European and American brands put some pressure on us. But our engineers ran 72 consecutive hours of repeatability tests in our lab, confirmed that all specifications exceeded national standard requirements, and then shipped two sample units to Dubai.
Three weeks later, the customer sent us a test report. The report compared our instrument with a German brand of the same type. Across 12 sets of flash point tests on different oil samples, our instrument showed a maximum deviation of only 0.6°C, while the German unit showed 0.9°C. At the end of the report, the customer wrote:
"The long‑term stability of this instrument exceeds our expectations."
What truly moved us happened six months later.
That customer not only placed a repeat order for eight additional petroleum analysis instruments of different models, but also recommended our products to an authorized laboratory of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company. That laboratory sent a technical supervisor to visit our factory in Dalian.
The supervisor spent an entire day in our workshop. He inspected every assembly process, randomly reviewed our factory calibration records from the previous two years, and on the spot used our copper strip corrosion tester to run a diesel sample. The test results matched exactly the data they had obtained from a European laboratory.
Before leaving, he said something that greatly encouraged us:
"Your forty years of experience have not been wasted. In an industrial city like Dalian, producing instruments with accuracy that rivals European products — we are willing to build a long‑term partnership with you."
Today, that customer has become our "living advertisement" in the Middle East. In 2024, they proactively connected us with two oil service companies in Kuwait and one in Oman. When one of the new customers signed the contract, he said candidly: "This laboratory has a strong reputation in the UAE. They have used your instruments for two years without any issues. We don't need to run our own trials."
This experience deeply reinforced for me: In the field of precision instruments like petroleum analysis testers, recognition from overseas customers is never built on fancy words. It is built on every data point, every batch, every repeatability test. When a customer is willing to use your instrument as their own "standard ruler" to serve their customers — that is true trust.
Dalian Analytical Instruments Factory has been in this business for nearly forty years. Our products have been exported to more than a dozen countries, including Russia, Iran, Indonesia, and the UAE. Every time a customer says, "Your instruments are very stable," behind that praise is the day‑after‑day commitment of our technical, quality control, and production teams.
— Success or failure, it all comes down to every precise measurement.
