How We Won a South American Customer When Our Standard Product Didn’t Match Their Specs

I. Customer Requirements & Challenge

In early 2025, we received an inquiry from a South American customer seeking a salt spray test chamber compliant with SH/T 0081 for evaluating the corrosion resistance of their grease products.

However, the customer raised three special requirements in their technical questionnaire:

Power supply : Must be 110V / 60Hz (our standard is 220V / 50Hz)

Spray mode : Requires onekey switching between intermittent and continuous spray, plus a remote control interface

Temperature control : Temperature stability must be ≤ ±0.3℃ (our standard is ±0.5℃)

None of our standard models could fully meet these three points.

II. Our Response Strategy

We did not simply reply “we cannot provide.” Instead, we took the following actions:

1. Technical Evaluation & Custom Solution

Our R&D team analyzed each requirement point by point

Confirmed that without changing the overall structure, we could achieve 110V / 60Hz by replacing the power module and upgrading the control system

Developed a temperature control optimization plan using higherprecision sensors and an improved PID algorithm, achieving stability of ±0.28℃ – exceeding the customer’s expectation

2. Spray System Upgrade

Added a control program module to the original tower spray system, enabling menubased switching between continuous and intermittent spray

Integrated an RS485 remote communication interface to support connection with the customer’s existing LIMS system

3. Transparent Communication & Prototype Testing

We proactively proposed to modify and test a prototype first, then sent the test video and data report to the customer

Test results showed stable salt spray deposition at 1.5 ml/80cm²·h with no abnormality after 72 hours of continuous operation




III. Results & Customer Feedback

Contract signed : The customer signed the official contract within two weeks after receiving the test report

Delivery & acceptance : The equipment was produced and shipped 45 days after the contract was signed. It passed the customer’s onsite acceptance test on the first attempt
