6. Test Principle (Brief)

A filtered distillate fuel oil sample is placed in an oxidation tube. The tube is then immersed in a 95°C water bath while a constant flow of oxygen is passed through the sample for 16 hours (standard test duration). After oxidation, the amount of gum and sediment formed is determined to evaluate the fuel's oxidation stability.
