DFYF-178 Engine Coolant Foam Tendency Tester

2026-05-11

SH/T 0066 Compliant | ±0.1°C Stability | Built-in Timer & Air Pump

Foaming in engine coolants can lead to overheating, cavitation damage, and overflow problems. The DFYF-178 provides a reliable, standard-driven way to measure both foam volume and foam collapse time – two essential parameters for antifreeze quality control.DFYF-178 Engine Coolant Foam Tendency Tester

✅ What Makes the DFYF-178 Stand Out?

Digital temperature controller – Clear LED display, precise regulation to ±0.1°C, and stable bath performance.

All-in-one gas supply – No external air compressor needed. The integrated pump works with a calibrated flow meter (1000±25 ml/min) and a micro-porous gas diffuser inside the graduated cylinder.

Built-in timer with auto-alarm – Simplifies foam generation measurement and automatically alerts you when the aeration period ends, so you can focus on recording foam disappearance time.

Complete SH/T 0066 compliance – Designed exactly for engine coolant foam tendency testing. Results are reliable, traceable, and ready for internal or third-party audits.

Compact, sturdy layout – Combines a thermostatic bath, heating unit, gas delivery system, and sample holder in one small-footprint case. Easy to clean and maintain.

How It Works (in 3 steps)

Fill the graduated cylinder with the coolant sample.

Set the desired test temperature (up to 100°C).

Start the test – the DFYF-178 automatically aerates the sample for the specified time, then sounds an alarm. Read foam volume and use the same timer to measure how long the foam takes to disappear.

No extra stopwatches, no external pumps – just accurate, repeatable results.

 Who Should Use This Instrument?

Antifreeze / engine coolant manufacturers

Third-party testing laboratories

Automotive chemical R&D centers

QC departments in lubricant and coolant plants
